Why Morgan Freeman Decided to Become a Beekeeper

Morgan Freeman sat down with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show to talk about being a beekeeper.

During the interview, the famous actor talked to the comedian about his venture keeping bees on his 124-acre ranch in Mississippi.

He received the bees from Arkansas and as part of the rehoming process he had to feed them himself – two parts sugar and one part water by putting the concoction into a feeder then inserting it into the hive.

He shared the comedian host that he doesn’t even have to wear a beekeeper outfit as the bees do not sting him. The Oscar-winning actor who’s voice has become his signature trait said that he resonates with the bees and therefore they do not sting him.

According to True Activist, Freeman expanded on his beekeeping venture saying,

There’s a concerted effort to bring bees back onto the planet. We do not realize that they are the foundation, I think, of the growth of the planet, the vegetation. I have so many flowering things, and I have a gardener too. Because she takes care of the bees too, all she does is figure out, ‘OK, what would they like to have?’, so we’ve got acres and acres of clover, we’re planting stuff like lavender, I’ve got like, maybe 140 magnolia trees, big blossoms.
